“Support Our Police” Motorcycle Ride and Rally

WIOD's Nathalie Rodriguez and TU949's Enrique Santos will emcee the PBA's third annual "Support Our Police" rally and motorcycle ride in support of law enforcement on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12:00 p.m. at Tropical Park.

The ride route starts at the Dade County PBA, 10680 PBA Memorial Boulevard (NW 25th Street) in Doral, and ends at the Miami-Dade County Law Enforcement Memorial in Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St. in Miami. Non-riders can arrive at the park by 12:00 p.m. and bring blankets and chairs to sit comfortably. A ceremony honoring law enforcement will be held at the park at 3 p.m. The Miami-Dade Police Department Aviation Unit will perform a fly-over at the end of the ceremony, and the Miami-Dade Fire Department will have its giant ceremonial flag on display. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to show their support of law enforcement. This event is growing by leaps and bounds. It’s going to be a great event, so bring your family and join us,” said PBA President John Rivera.

The event also will feature food vendors, entertainment, music and the world wide release of the video for the single “Line of Duty.” “Line of Duty” is performed and written by Grammy winning artists Jon Secada and Joel Someillan and was commissioned by the Dade County PBA as a means of promoting good relations and respect between law enforcement and the citizens they protect in every city across the nation.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the PBA’s “Love Fund, Inc.” a 501 (c) (3) charity that assists officers and their families during times of need. Donations are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Registration is $20 per rider and includes a T-shirt. Registration begins at 11 a.m. on Feb. 26. For more information, visit www.dcpba.org or call the PBA (305) 593-0044 or the office of Commissioner Diaz at (305) 599-1200.
