"Hannity & Colmes" star and Fox News Channel's political commentator Alan Colmes is dead at the age of 66. Colmes passed away earlier today after a brief illness.
NewsRadio 610 WIOD's own Sean Hannity teamed up with Colmes in 1996, the pair becoming a staple of Fox News Channel. Colmes, the liberal, was a springboard against Hannity, a devoted conservative. The team split up in 2009.
Hannity called Colmes "one of the nicest, kindest and most generous people" on a cable news network tribute this morning.
Colmes leaves behind his wife, Jocelyn Crowley, who, in a statement, said that Colmes was "a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral." She and his family also ask for "privacy during this very difficult time."
Listen live to 610 WIOD today at 3 p.m. as Sean Hannity remembers his longtime friend.
