LISTEN: MLB Celebrating All-Star Game With FanFest

The baseball world will be focused on South Florida this summer.

The All-Star Game and all the festivities that go with it will take place between July 7th through July 11th.

This afternoon Major League Baseball announced tickets for All-Star FanFest and All-Star Sunday are on sale now.

FanFest opens on the 7th at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

t's been dubbed the world's largest interactive baseball theme park offering fans more than 40 attractions.

Fans will also be able to meet, get autographs and take photos with some of baseball's biggest names.  

MLB's Jackie Secaira-Cotto says, "A lot of former big leaguers reside in Florida, so we're going to take full advantage of that.  Invite them to come down, meet the fans, take pictures with fans, autographs.  It's just an absolute celebration of baseball."

They can also see, up close and personal, the trophy which will be handed out to the World Series Champions, the Commissioner's Trophy.

All-Star Sunday also will feature some of the men who will likely become future MLB stars in the All-Star Futures Game.  It showcases top Minor League prospects.  Current Miami Marlins stars Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich have participated in previous Futures Games.  Former baseball stars and stars of the screen and stage will step up to bat following it in the six inning, exhibition All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game. 

Monday the biggest sluggers in the game will hit them out of Marlins Park in the home Run Derby.

It all culminates in Tuesday's All-Star Game itself.
