Abortion opponents are rallying for the 44th annual March for Life nearly one week after the historic Women's March which drew millions worldwide. Several Republican leaders are expected to speak including Vice President Mike Pence and Kellyanne Conway.
Rosemarie Banich with the Archdiocese of Miami says she's attending the march to fight for the rights of unborn children. "Just because a human being is dependent on another human being, we do not give the controlling person the choice of killing the other person." She says with President Donald Trump in office there's a little hope. "I've never thought of him as a pro-life individual but so far what he has said in regards to pro-life issues, supreme court nominee I am very pleased to hear what he has said so far."
The march comes days after the 44th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in 1973. Protesters are expected to follow the traditional route starting at National Mall and ending in front of the Supreme Court. The March for Life and last week's Women's March share the same venue, the National Mall in Washington.
