(Cape Canaveral, FL) - Astronauts are busy Thursday morning with NASA'S 100th spacewalk outside of the International Space Station.
NASA astronaut Anil Menon and Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk are executing a nearly 7-hour mission to install a massive roll-out solar array, boosting the station's total electrical power supply by up to 30%.
Kutryk is the 5th Canadian ever to perform a spacewalk and the first from the country to do one in the past seven years. NASA's Menon has completed three spacewalks and also serves with the US Space Force.
During the now defunct Space Shuttle program, NASA logged nearly 300 such walks. But today's is dubbed "US Spacewalk 100" because it is the 100th conducted from the ISS's Quest airlock without a space shuttle present.
