The public getting its first look tonight at what the Surfside memorial could look like. Mayor Charles Burkett says it's a tasteful fountain and greenspace honoring the 98 people who died in the 2021 condo collapse. He says it's not set in stone, if anyone has any ideas, they are open to them. The memorial, funded by local- state and federal dollars, will be built at the site along 88th Street and Collins Avenue. Groundbreaking is expected within the year.
