Arraignment For Man Charged With First Degree Murder Of El Taiger

After receiving a grand jury indictment, charges have been upgraded to first-degree murder against the man accused of gunning down Cuban reggaeton singer El Taiger.

Damian Valdez-Galloso is also charged with tampering with physical evidence and felony possession of a firearm.

With the 37-year-old not in Miami-Dade County court this morning, his attorney entered a not guilty plea and demanded a jury trial.

Prosecutors told his attorney they haven't decided yet if they'll seek the death penalty for the murder of Jose Manuel Carvajal Zaldivar, better known as El Taiger.

Investigators claim Valdez-Galloso shot the singer in the head at a Hialeah home and dragged him to an SUV.

That SUV, with the artist inside, was found parked near Jackson Memorial Hospital.
