Some Florida residents are being given directions on what to do to get rid of their live Christmas trees now that the holiday is over.

The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County says residents of unincorporated areas of the county can place those trees curbside on their next regular yard waste collection day.

Trees up to eight feet and weighing less than 50 pounds can be left at the curb as-is, but trees larger and heavier than that will have to be cut in half.

The SWA says to remember to remove all decorations, lights and tinsel.
