American Airlines is officially suspending its daily flights between Miami and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, until further notice.
The Federal Aviation Administration suspended the service for 90 day. American's three-month suspension would have expired in mid-February, but has now been extended indefinitely.
Several air carriers: including American Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Deerfield Beach-based Spirit Airlines, had announced the suspension of daily flights into Haiti after confirmation their planes were hit by gunfire while in Haitian airspace in early November.
