Hialeah Family's Beloved Yorkie Stolen In Broad Daylight

Hialeah, FL - A Hialeah family is pleading for the safe return of their Yorkie after two men brazenly stole the small dog from their driveway in broad daylight.

The theft of the Yorkie, named Mia, occurred Monday afternoon and was captured on home surveillance cameras.

The footage shows Mia being taken by two men driving a blue BMW SUV near West 33rd Street.

According to the dog's owner, Angel Achong, the theft happened after workers in the backyard accidentally left a fence door open, allowing Mia to wander out.

Moments later, the men in the BMW seized the opportunity.

“She came to them, and they just picked her up and drove away,” Achong told Local 10 News WPLG.

He identified the vehicle as a blue BMW X3 or X5, model years 2018 to 2022.

The loss has been devastating for Achong’s special needs brother, who shares a deep bond with Mia.

“It’s his baby,” Achong told Local 10 News WPLG. “He’s been lost without her.”

The family is offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to Mia’s safe return.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the dog to come forward.
