21-Year-Old Boynton Beach Man Identified In Fatal Key Largo Boat Accident

Key Largo, FL - Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal boating accident near north Key Largo on Saturday.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Eytan M. Genoune of Boynton Beach,

Genoune was aboard a 34-foot Nor-Tech vessel traveling south with two other individuals when a sudden turn ejected all three into the water.

FWC reports the accident occurred near the Card Sound Bridge, close to Pumpkin Key, prompting a rapid response from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, including air rescues and dive teams.

While two of the passengers were transported to a trauma center with injuries, Genoune was found deceased in the water.

The condition of the injured individuals has not been disclosed.

Late Saturday night, authorities, including Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue, returned to the area near Pumpkin Key and retrieved a heavy object from the water.

Officials have not confirmed whether the object is connected to Saturday's accident.
