DUNEDIN, FL -- A man whose job was helping people know where to vote, is accused of threatening to blow people up when he couldn't get paid.
Pinellas sheriff's deputies say 48-year-old Jerome Chambers showed up at Dunedin City Hall Sunday morning with a black duffel bag, getting more and more upset about problems with his payroll app, which he was attempting to use to get paid for his work. Witnesses say he was making threats, which he later denied to deputies.
He's charged with making a false bomb threat and violating probation.
Chambers was working for a company contracted by the state Department of Emergency Management to tell voters where their Election Day polling places got moved after the hurricanes, by hanging messages on their doorknobs. About two dozen polling places are affected in Pinellas.
