The FBI is monitoring election integrity across the country through 56 Election Crime Command Posts.

Miami Special Agent-in-Charge Ryan James says this is standard procedure and not a response to this year's contentious campaigns.

"[This] posture has been in existence for years," he said, at a news conference in Miami on the eve of Election Day. "This is something that happens no matter what the election is, whether it be a congressional election or a presidential election."

More than a dozen FBI personnel man computer monitors in Miami alone, vetting complaints, assessing reported incidents, and communicating with local and state authorities and the Department of Justice.

They are looking for several things.

"Some of these crimes include ballot fraud, voter fraud, civil rights violations, campaign finance violations, threats to election workers, and cyber-security attacks on our election infrastructure," James said.

The public can report election irregularities at 1-800-CALL-FBI (800-225-5324) or online at TIPS.FBI.GOV.
