(Coral Gables, FL) - The undefeated Miami Hurricanes remain a legitimate force in college football.

The Canes blew out Duke 53-31 behind 400 passing yards and five touchdowns by quarterback Cam Ward Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium.

“They know they are capable. That’s No. 1,” Canes coach Mario Cristobal said. “There’s a lot of trust and confidence in each other. No. 2, I mean, football now, especially with technology, the cat and mouse game, the adjustment back and forth game, is really different. It’s a whole new level."

The Hurricanes are 9-and-0 on the season and 5-and-0 in the ACC.

With Miami’s win and Penn State’s loss to Ohio State, the Canes moved up from fifth to fourth in the USA Today coaches poll.

Only Ohio State, Georgia and undefeated Oregon are ahead of Miami.

Miami is hoping to reach the team's first College Football Playoff. The Hurricanes have only Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Syracuse left on their schedule.
