Broward County, FL - The Broward County Board of County Commissioners has passed an ordinance providing free transit fares on Broward County Transit (BCT) buses and paratransit services during the upcoming General Election.
The fare-free days will be on Saturday, November 2nd, and Sunday, November 3, for early voting, as well as on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5.
County officials say the initiative aims to eliminate transportation barriers, making it easier for residents to reach polling sites.
Early voting is already underway across Florida, with 29 early voting locations open in Broward County through November 3rd.
Operating daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., BCT buses will stop near these sites, providing convenient access for voters.
"We are pleased to offer free transportation to the polls on November 2nd, November 3rd, and Election Day, November 5th, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote without transportation worries," Coree Cuff Lonergan, CEO and General Manager of BCT, told Local 10 News.
