Storms from Wednesday night have turned deadly. Pembroke Pines police say a lightning strike is to blame for the death of a 16-year-old McArthur High School student.
A resident saw the boy on his bike as she was trying to get her pet inside. Next thing she knew, the teen was lying in the street.
First responders rushed to the scene in the 600 block of Southwest 67th Avenue and found the teen in cardiac arrest with burn marks on his chest and legs.
Grief counselors will be on campus to help students process the tragedy.
