The iconic show that put South Beach on the map celebrating 40 years.
Miami Vice 40th anniversary events begin Thursday afternoon in Miami Beach with Mayor Steve Meiner proclaiming September 16th, Miami Vice Day.
The ceremony set to take place 4:30 at the Avalon Hotel.
Former cast members will appear and memorabilia from the show on display through Sunday.
