The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring a tropical wave in the Atlantic that shows potential for development. Located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, this system could become the next named storm, Ernesto .

While the storm’s track remains uncertain, forecasters believe it may strengthen into a tropical depression or even a hurricane. Residents along the East Coast are advised to stay vigilant and follow NHC updates as the situation evolves.

Tropical Storm Debby, which recently made landfall in South Carolina, has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone. However, it continues to bring heavy rainfall and flooding to parts of the coastal Carolinas and the Northeastern United States.

Stay informed and prepared during this active hurricane season, and heed local weather advisories for your safety.
