There's a new theory about the deaths of Nancy and Joey Bochicchio in Boca Raton.

The mother and daughter were found murdered inside their SUV at the Town Center Mall in December of 2007.

There has never been a suspect, but former investigator Jim Rathmann is out with a documentary that claims a Swedish serial killer may have been to blame. He says Peter Mangs has been sending him clues.

“It's a game for them. He wants to notoriety. He wants to be famous. But you got to figure it out. You're going to have to work for it. And that's what Peter Mangs is doing right now. He's trying to make us work for it.”

He tells CBS 12 News that Mangs is imprisoned for life and he's linked to 15 murders, starting in 2009, two years after the Bochicchio case and the killing of Randi Gorenberg, who was kidnapped at the mall, shot dead and her body was thrown from her vehicle in Delray Beach.

Rathmann claims Mangs was in Boca Raton to visit family at the time of the murders.

Police circulated a sketch of a suspect description, based on the words of a woman who survived a kidnapping from the same mall around the time of both the Bochicchios and Gorenberg murders.

Boca Raton Police and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office have already shot down this theory, but Rathmann hopes another law enforcement agency will look further into it.

The three-part documentary Under the Radar - Secrets of a Swedish Serial Killer is available to stream now on the Viaplay streaming service, available as an add-on subscription via Prime Video Channels and other partners.
