Miami, FL - A man already convicted of selling fake car insurance policies has been rearrested on additional charges.
Police say 39-year-old William Edwin Diehl Jr. is accused of duping more unsuspecting customers with phony insurance plans.
Diehl, owner of Gordos Auto Inc. in Coral Gables, was initially arrested in January for insurance fraud.
Despite pleading guilty and being placed on probation, authorities say he continued his scheme, selling at least one fraudulent policy as recently as February.
New charges were filed after more victims came forward, claiming they were sold nonexistent insurance policies.
Many victims only discovered the fraud when they received cancellation notices or driver's license suspensions.
Investigators believe Diehl worked with an accomplice, Miguel Calunga, to carry out the scam.
Diehl is currently being held without bond.
