PLANT CITY -- Hillsborough deputies arrest a man on murder charges, saying he set a fire at a mobile home that killed four adults early Wednesday morning.
The sheriff's office says 25-year-old Shawn Gosset lives at the home and intentionally started the fire that also killed three dogs. They've charged Gosset with four counts of first degree murder-arson, thre counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, and one count of arson involving a dwelling.
Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister calls this a "senseless and horrific crime." The Medical Examiner is working to identify the victims, one of whom apparently called 911 to get help. Chief Deputy Maurer says Gosset used a Bic lighter to set some paper towels ablaze.
