Rep. Luna's Move To Release Biden Audio Falls Short

WASHINGTON -- Pinellas congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna says she plans to introduce another resolution to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt, after her attempt to do so failed in the U.S. House Thursday.

The Justice Department has rejected a congressional subpoena for a sound recording of President Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur. He described the president as an "elderly man with a poor memory" and Luna and other Republicans argue that they need to discover the facts of Biden's cognitive condition.

Some Republicans joined Democrats in voting against the measure, which would have fined him ten thousand dollars a day. The House Judiciary Committee has also filed suit to force the Biden administration to turn over the recording.

Luna says she has re-filed the resolution and expects to call it up again when the House is back in session.
