We're getting an update on the status of a proposal to build another Buc-ee's in Florida.
St. Lucie County Commissioner Cathy Townsend tells CBS 12 News that an updated proposal was presented to her and the other commissioners Tuesday night.
"I would say that we are probably 90 percent there after tonight. We have to do it right though. It's very very important that we get it right because you don't have a second chance."
The plan to open the giant convenience store-gas station along Indrio Road at I-95 in Fort Pierce hinges on the county also approving a larger plan.
The owners of the land want to build a community with thousands of homes, a fire station and a school. Then, they would sell a portion of the property to Buc-ee's.
It could still take months for the deal to get final approval, but if it happens Florida would eventually have four Buc-ee's. There are already locations in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, with one in Ocala under construction.
