Lady Lake, FL - A 41-year-old Florida man is facing a felony robbery charge after attempting to withdraw a penny from a Chase Bank on Saturday.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, Michael Fleming entered the bank and attempted to withdraw a single penny.
When the teller informed him this wasn't possible, Fleming allegedly made a threatening remark, causing the teller to fear violence and contact law enforcement.
Deputies arrived to find Fleming still inside the bank and took him into custody.
Details regarding their conversation remain undisclosed in the official report, but authorities determined Fleming's actions constituted a violation of Florida's robbery statutes.
Fleming was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and remains jailed on a $5,000 bond as of this afternoon.
