Florida's Chief Financial Officer is hosting a fair Tuesday, but it's not the kind with carnival rides and games.

The 'Fixing Problems for Floridians Fair' is aimed at helping residents get help with several different issues.

"A lot of times certain problems, they just seem to flow better and get worked out when you're doing a face to face meeting. So that's exactly what we're doing."

Jimmy Patronis tells Brian Mudd that residents with concerns about their auto, property or health insurance policies or claims can get free assistance at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport Hotel in West Palm Beach.

"They'll sit down, they'll walk through what your concerns are. We'll have our computers there. We'll be able to do everything that we would typically be able to do in the office, remotely."

He says anyone who's interested in taking advantage of the state's My Safe Florida Home program can also get help with that. The program offers grants to homeowners who harden their homes against hurricanes.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport Hotel.

Experts will be on hand to assist consumers with a wide variety of issues including:

Homeowners Insurance

Health Insurance

Automobile Insurance

Insurance Agent & Adjuster Issues

Workers’ Compensation Insurance

Unclaimed Property

Contractor Issues

Home Hardening & Mitigation

Funeral & Cemetery Services
