TAMPA -- An unusual remembrance for Memorial Day weekend takes place at a Tampa American Legion post Saturday.
It's a service to remember those active-duty, veterans and first responders who died by suicide.
Ellsworth (Tony) Williams is CEO and President of the group Veterans Counseling Veterans. He says this event was created to serve families and friends of suicide victims who may not feel comfortable attending Memorial Day events elsewhere.
Speakers include a retired Air Force colonel who lost his sister, a Marine veteran, to suicide.
The Special Memorial Day Ceremony takes place Saturday (25th) at 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post #5 in Tampa, at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Dale Mabry Highway.
