It's opening day!

The Marlins begin the season at home with a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The last time these clubs met, the Marlins clinched an NL Wild Card berth in Pittsburgh.

The season will kick off without ace Sandy Alcantara who is recovering from Tommy John surgery he underwent last October.

Even without Alcantara, who is probably out for the whole season, the Marlins have a capable and talented left-hander Jesús Luzardo who will start today.

The Marlins made the postseason last year for the first time since 2003 guided by NL "Manager of the Year" Skip Schumaker and "big league batting champ" Luis Arráez (.354).

Both are back this season!

Catch the Marlins in action with pre-game fun starting at 3pm on their home Fox Sports 940.
