Homestead, FL - A South Florida correctional officer was arrested on Wednesday on charges of sexual misconduct with a detainee.
According to the victim's statement to a detective, the alleged assault occurred on February 11th at the Homestead Correctional Institute.
The victim claims a corrections officer, identified as 20-year-old Jerry Brawley III, instructed inmates to stay in their cells during the midnight count before calling the victim specifically into the officer's station.
Brawley’s arrest report details how he allegedly used an inmate tablet charging station to block the view, turned off the lights, and shut the door upon the victim's entry.
The victim alleges Brawley then demanded sexual acts before they had intercourse.
Surveillance footage corroborated the victim's timeline of entering the officer's station and the lights being switched off.
Bradley was arrested on a single charge of sexual misconduct and received a $2,500 bond at his court appearance on Thursday.
