Rideshare Drivers May Be Illegally Avoiding Toll Payments in Florida

Make sure you're able to see the license plate on the back of your Uber or Lyft ride before getting in.

Orlando's News 6 reports that some rideshare drivers are using bike racks to cover their license plates making them unreadable by toll cameras.

Customers, though, are still being charged for the tolls through the rideshare apps, and that money is still going to the driver's account as reimbursement for the tolls they're supposed to be paying.

This is illegal and also violates Uber and Lyft policy that state license plates have to be fully readable so customers can verify they're getting into the right car.

Drivers who intentionally obstruct their license plates could be deactivated by the companies.
