The Jupiter father who locked his son in a box-like structure in the garage of the family's home has been transferred to prison.
48-year old Tim Ferriter was taken this week to the Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex in Chipley in the Panhandle.
His move comes after the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office requested that Ferriter be transferred from the County Jail into the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections.
That followed his conviction for child abuse, child neglect and false imprisonment last year, and a sentence of five years. Ferriter is appealing his conviction and sentence.
His wife, Tracy Ferriter, will be going on trial for the same charges in July.
