The Miami Heat without star forward Heyward Highsmith as they beat the Spurs at home last night. Highsmith instead was reportedly involved in a violent wreck after Tuesday night's game against the Magic on the way to his home in the Kendall area. He was behind the wheel when he reportedly hit a man assisting a broken down driver in the middle of the road.
The man hit is hospitalized in critical condition having suffered a partial amputation. The team says they are "aware ..our hearts go out to all injured."
Miami-Dade Police is investigating.
