Broward Public Schools Hosting 6th Annual Youth Climate Summit

One thousand Broward students, in grades five through twelve, taking part in the district's sixth annual Youth Climate Summit at Pompano Beach High School. STEM Dr. Lisa Milenkovic says students are learning how to turn their ideas for promoting environmental sustainability into positive actions. She says she had students come up with the idea of solar roof panels before they were ever on the market, so students have come up with real solutions. South Florida is among the most vulnerable regions in the U-S for climate change, thanks to a large human population and an Everglades ecosystem located on flat, low-lying terrain.
