Broward Teacher Arrested for Theft Spree at Best Buy Totaling Over $20,000

Broward County, FL - A teacher and her accomplice were arrested on five counts of third-degree grand theft after stealing over $20,000 in merchandise from a South Florida Best Buy.

In a shocking turn of events, a Broward school teacher, 32-year-old Danielle Marie Lorini, and her accomplice, 36-year-old Andrew Joseph Causa, were arrested by Miami-Dade Police on Sunday, charged with five counts of third-degree grand theft.

Surveillance cameras captured the duo engaging in a month-long stealing spree at a Best Buy store located at 7751 Bird Road, accumulating stolen merchandise totaling $20,186.70.

The thefts occurred between Sep. 2, 2023, and Jan. 16, with the couple brazenly taking items from the store's shelves without paying.

The arrests were made after a Best Buy employee observed them removing security tags, concealing the items, and leaving the store without payment.

Despite the arrest, Broward County Public Schools stated they have no record of Lorini being a public school teacher, leaving the whereabouts of her teaching position unclear.

Both Lorini and Causa are currently in jail.
