The Social Security Administration will never threaten to suspend your Social Security Number.

That's the word as a scam has seniors receiving emails and text messages that claim to be from the agency.

They tell the victim that authorities have found multiple bank accounts linked to a total of $14 million, along with money laundering and narcotics trafficking.

The scam came to light by Veronica Masson of West Palm Beach. She received an email and reported it, while also sharing it on the Next Door app.

"I hope that I helped a few elders not fall in their trap. That's what I hope."

Masson tells CBS 12 News that she called the number and knew it was a scam, but fears others may be duped.
