A South Florida political activist filing a civil suit in Broward Circuit Court attempting to block Donald Trump from appearing on Florida's 2024 presidential ballot. Chaz Stevens says the 14th Constitutional amendment prohibits people who have engaged in insurrection against the U-S from serving in federal office after previously taking an oath to defend the Constitution. He says a criminal conviction is not necessary for Trump to be disqualified. The lawsuit follows similar suits filed across the country leading to the former president being taken off the ballot in Colorado and Maine.
