An eight-hour standoff in West Palm Beach caused chaos for people living in one neighborhood.
Police say that at Noon on Monday officers tried to serve a warrant on 49-year old James Gerald Parker on charges including sexual battery and aggravated stalking at the Fairway Vista apartment complex when the convicted felon barricaded himself inside his apartment and made threatening statements.
The SWAT team was called out and some school bus routes had to be changed, while residents trying to return to their homes or leave their homes were turned away.
Police tell CBS 12 News that when tear gas didn't work, they sent the heavy machinery in and got Parker into custody.
He was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.
