Holiday travelers on the East Coast are being told to get ready for stormy weather. Forecasters are warning that two storm systems will slam into each other early next week, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to millions along the Eastern Seaboard.
South Florida, meanwhile, has a Flood Watch and Wind Advisory extended now through Saturday. The National Weather Service is predicting 2 to 6 inches of rain in some areas while other areas throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties could see upwards of 8 inches of rainfall.
At times, heavy downpours and tropical storm-force wind gusts could be experienced.
This low pressure system moving across Florida is expected to merge with a system that dumped rain and snow on Texas, creating a larger system that forecasters say will move up the coast and dump heavy rain from Georgia to New England from Sunday night until Tuesday.
No snow is predicted in the storm, because forecasters say the air won't be cold enough.
