Taylor Swift is Time's Person of the Year. Swift was chosen over eight other finalists including King Charles the Third and Barbie. The magazine awards the title to the individual, group or concept that has had the most influence on the world throughout the previous year. Time's editor in chief Sam Jacobs said they picked Swift because she represents joy and is someone bringing light to the world.
