Clearwater, FL - Nick Hogan, son of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, was arrested in Clearwater over the weekend on a charge of driving under the influence.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday morning when officers conducting a stop observed a Dodge Ram, driven by Nick Hogan (legal name Nicholas Bollea), approaching them in a separate lane.
Officers say Bollea didn't comply when officers attempted to signal him to change lanes and slow down using a flashlight.
The Clearwater Police Department reported that another officer detected Bollea's vehicle speeding at 51 mph in a 40-mph zone.
When Bollea was pulled over for a violation of the Move Over Law, officers noted signs of impairment, citing swaying and unsteadiness, along with a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" and bloodshot, glassy eyes.
Bollea was taken into custody after refusing a breathalyzer test and failing field sobriety tests.
Saturday's arrest echoes a prior high-profile accident involving Bollea in the late 2000s when, at the age of 17, he was involved in a serious crash in Clearwater on August 26th, 2007.
In that incident, Bollea pled no contest to a charge of reckless driving and received a sentence of eight months in the county jail and five years of probation.
The crash left Bollea's friend, John Graziano, with a severe brain injury, leading to a lawsuit against the Bollea family by the Graziano family.
