“I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” Dr. McDreamy of “Grey’s Anatomy” told People.
The 57-year-old star takes the crown from “Captain America” Chris Evans who won last year.
Dempsey’s new title was revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday during a 20 questions segment.
“I’m just happy they made a decision, and it was me this year,” he told Kimmel, before joking, “Never give up on a dream.”
Other notable past sexy men include Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum and David Beckham.
