In a surprise move, jurors in Tallahassee are hearing directly from a Miami dentist accused of murder.

While on the witness stand this morning, Charlie Adelson, denied hiring a hit man to kill FSU professor and his former brother-in-law, Dan Markel, nine years ago.

Adelson is accused of hiring two Miami hitmen, Latin Kings gang leader Luis Rivera and Sigfredo Garcia, to carry out the hit.

Rivera, Garcia and Adelson's former girlfriend, Katherine Magbanua have already been convicted in the murder.

Adelson says that he is a victim of an extortion plot, and that Magbanua was the mastermind of the murder.
