Extra security is on the campus of one South Florida school.

The Palm Beach County School District sent out an email to parents of kids at Lake Worth High, referencing a social media post that threatened to "shoot up the school."

"If you go to school tomorrow don't talk, because I have a gun and I am going to shoot up the school. I see you walking and you're happy always, so I won't kill you. I'm tired of this everybody else is dying, tomorrow November 2nd will go down in history I'm going to shoot up Lake Worth High, be prepared. Keep your mouth shut. I will kill everybody."

School District Police are investigating and district officials say the person responsible will face criminal charges.

State law calls for a second-degree felony for threats against a school.

There are metal detectors at four Palm Beach County high schools, but Lake Worth High is not one of them. The school district says it will be adding the walk-thru detectors at all high schools before the end of the academic year.
