A six hour standoff after SWAT swarm a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood looking for a strong-armed robbery suspect. SWAT and Fort Lauderdale Police stormed a single mother's apartment near NW 12th Ave and 9th Street...tear bombs thrown in...but it turns out it was the wrong location.
The resident of that unit, Trenise Thomas, a single mother and caretaker claims she and her family now have no place to stay after the mess left behind by officers. She says she is waiting to hear from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to see if they will assess the damage and help her find temporary residence.
As for the suspect, 27-year-old Spinsir Easley, he was holed up in the unit next door to Thomas.
According to police, Easley's crimes stemmed out of Oakland Park. Easley was eventually taken into custody and is facing multiple charges that include battery on a person over 65, robbery and falsely pawning an item worth $3000 or more.
