Lights Out On Controversial L-E-D Billboards In Miami

Miami won't become the next Times Square anytime soon, as commissioners indefinitely defer the controversial L-E-D billboard ordinance. James Torres with the Downtown Neighbors Alliance spoke out against the idea at today's commission meeting. Mayor Francis Suarez was sponsoring the bill that would have allowed forty-five billboards of up to 10-thousand square feet with L-E-D lights from 6 p.m. until midnight in the downtown corridor. More than 2-thousand residents signed a petition against it saying they would ruin the quality of life there.
