Miami Commissioners Could Weigh In On Controversial Billboard Proposal

Miami Commissioners expected to weigh in on a deferred proposal to allow forty-five billboards of up to 10-thousand square feet with L-E-D lights from 6 p.m. until midnight in the downtown corridor. But James Torres-President of the Downtown Neighbors Alliance-says Miami isn't New York City and there's no need for a Times Square type feel here. He worries this will ruin the quality of life for residents. A Change.org petition started over the summer already has two-thousand signatures against the billboards. Mayor Francis Suarez is sponsoring the ordinance.
