A police officer in the town of Palm Beach is being rewarded with the Carnegie Medal of Honor after rescuing a woman who was attempting to commit suicide.
It happened back in June. The 67-year old woman was perched on the ledge of a six-story building and Officer Kendall Reyes was called to the scene. She began talking with the distraught woman and as the woman began dangling her legs over the side, Reyes sprinted toward her and yanked her away from the ledge.
Other officers were nearby to help secure the woman.
The Carnegie Medal is given to individuals across the U.S. and Canada who risk their own lives to an extraordinary degree while attempting to save others.
