Miami Commissioners holding a special meeting Saturday to figure out how best to fill the District 1 seat left vacant by Alex Diaz de la Portilla after his arrest on corruption charges. Commissioner Manolo Reyes says they can appoint a replacement or hold a special election, but he says a special election is pointless with the general election already set for November 7th. Diaz de la Portilla's name will appear on the November 7th ballot because a week before his arrest he qualified for re-election. He faces several charges including bribery, money laundering and official misconduct.
