Alleged illegal gambling operations have been busted across the state.

The Florida Gaming Control Commission announced on Tuesday that they shut down gaming sites in Hillsborough, Palm Beach, Pinellas and St. Lucie counties.

Among the places raided were Players Paradise Arcade in Delray Beach and Midway Arcade in Fort Pierce.

Over $1 million in assets were seized, including cash, slot machines, computers and ATMs.

The Lucky Game Lounge in Tampa and an unnamed operation in St. Petersburg were the other locations that have been shut down.

The busts came as a result of complaints to the commission.

The executive director of the Florida Gaming Control Commission says illegal arcades are usually associated with organized crime and don't provide the same consumer protections as legal gaming operators.
