Broward County Gets Grant To End Epidemic Of Pedestrian Deaths By Car

Uncle Sam stepping in to help put an end to the epidemic of pedestrian deaths by car in Broward. Broward County ranks 14th in the nation when it comes to people being hit and killed by cars. Today, Representatives Jared Moskowitz and Debbie Wasserman Schultz are announcing a five-million-dollar grant to try and stop this from happening. The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization will use the funds to develop county-wide implementation strategies with an emphasis on underserved communities. Just last week a 76-year-old Pompano Beach man died when he was hit by an SUV walking on the east side of North Riverside Drive.
