Air quality tests continue as a massive energy plant fire continues in Doral. Congressman Mario Diaz Balart has sent a letter to the EPA asking it to conduct safety tests to ensure residents and those who work near the Covanta facility off Northwest 97th Avenue are ok. Residents have been told to stay inside, if possible, with the windows closed and wear a mask outside. Firefighters believe a faulty conveyor belt is to blame, the blaze is expected to continue for several days. Miami-Dade Schools canceling all outdoor activities in the area until further notice.
